Assistant Pool/Facilities Manager

Salary: $7.72 - $9.45 per hour

Duties / Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Pool Manager, assists in supervising a swimming pool or other facility operation; assists in organizing and instructing swimming classes and competitive water sports; acts in capacity for the Lifeguard and Swim Instructor as necessary; performs pool lifeguard duties; and performs related work as required.  Assist in creating a work schedule, training and assisting swim instructors in lesson plan development and swim instruction practices, maintain all pool facility areas, and proper sanitation of pool water, maintain good public relations, enforce all pool rules and regulations, perform Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and water safety procedures when necessary, keep up-to-date records and complete all required reports and paperwork, responsible for entire pool facility activity and for keeping the Pool Manager up-to-date and informed of personnel, programs, and maintenance status.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in organized recreation programs dealing with swimming pool management, lifeguarding, swimming instruction, or related activities.

Certificates: Current Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI); Lifeguard Training; First Aid for Lifeguards (EMSA); CPR for the Professional Rescuer; Advanced First Aid or EMT is desirable.

Please note: All required certifications must be completed by date of hire.   On a continuous basis: work outdoors in or around water; exposed to extreme heat; know and understand assignment and observe safety rules; stand, bend, climb, swim when instructing or assisting class participants.
