Sunrise Swans Synchronized Swim Team
HEAD COACH
(Part-time)

The position:
Temporary Part-time Head Coach.

Example of Duties:
Under direction of Recreation Manager/aquatics division, plans, organizes and directs all activities of the Sunrise Swans. Plan, organize, develop and implement synchronized swim practices for approx. 40 members. Must attend all practices and meets. Responsible for effective and efficient supervision during practices and meets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to completion of one year of college.

Knowledge of/Ability to: Teach competitive swim strokes, diving and synchronized swimming techniques; methods of coaching youth; training and supervision of employees; supervision of volunteers; preparing meet entries; preparing written routines; public relations; life guarding and first aid techniques and CPR.

License/Certificate: Current Red Cross Lifeguard Training; CPR for professional rescuer, and First aid for Lifeguards or equivalent.

Salary: $2,300-$3000
   (Season Stipend)

 

Sunrise Sharks Swim Team
ASSISTANT COACH

The position: 5 Temporary Part-time positions.

Example of Duties: Assist in all activities of the Sunrise Sharks Swim Team; implement swim practices for approx. 200 team members; help participants improve swim strokes, starts, turns, and race times; attend all practices and meets assigned; responsible for effective and efficient supervision during practices and meets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Equivalent to completion of junior or senior year of high school.

Certificates: Current Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and EMSA First Aid and/or Safety Training for Swim coaches or equivalent.

Knowledge of/Ability to: Teach competitive swim strokes, starts, turn skills, diving and other swimming techniques; methods of coaching youth; training and supervision of employees; supervision of volunteers; preparing meet entries, organizing practice; perform first aid, lifesaving techniques and CPR.

Salary: $1,500-$2,000
  (Season Stipend)

 

Coach-in-Training
(Volunteer)

The position: 10 volunteer positions available for Coach-In-Training(CIT).

Examples of Duties: Assist in selected activities of Sunrise Sharks swim team as determined by the Head Coach..

Schedule: Each CIT will be required to volunteer at least 10 hours per week. Schedule will be the same each week to provide consistency for  swimmers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: Must have at least 3 years competitive/recreational swim team experience as a swimmer.

Education: Equivalent to completion of sophomore or junior year in high school.

Knowledge of/Ability to:  Teach competitive swim strokes, starts, turn skills, diving and other swimming techniques; provide positive, enthusiastic leadership and role model for the team; perform first aid, lifesaving techniques and CPR.

License/Certificates: Child CPR is required. Lifeguard training certificate preferred.

Compensation:  Refund of swim team fee if CIT ends season in good standing.
